Leave the city behind and set out on an exciting off-road Jeep adventure into the heart of the Judean Desert.
This dramatic landscape offers a rare glimpse into traditional desert life. Traveling through remote off-road areas, you’ll encounter Bedouin communities, their simple dwellings, and grazing herds, gaining insight into a way of life that has changed little over centuries.
Along the route, we’ll explore ancient water cisterns, ingenious systems once vital for desert agriculture and still used today. Our journey continues with a challenging ascent to Mount Azazel, a site steeped in ancient Jewish tradition connected to the Yom Kippur scapegoat ritual.
From there, we head to the remarkable Mar Saba Monastery, a secluded and awe-inspiring complex founded over 1,500 years ago. Still inhabited by Greek Orthodox monks, it is one of the oldest continuously used monasteries in the world, surrounded by dramatic cliffs and ancient hermit caves.
The adventure concludes with an off-road drive through the winding Kidron Valley, where shepherds’ caves and traces of ancient agricultural terraces line the route, offering a powerful sense of history etched into the desert landscape.
